Employers generously provide many on-campus interviewing opportunities to students at Montana Tech. It is important for students to know their obligations and adhere to the On-Campus Interviewing Policy detailed on this page.

Student Obligations

  • Provide Career Services with accurate information.
  • Adhere to interview schedules.
  • Accept an offer of employment in good faith.
  • Let employers know if they accept or decline a job in a timely fashion.
  • Only interview with employers for whom they want to work.
  • Interview with employers whose eligibility requirements they meet.

Cancellations

  • Students must cancel an interview at least 24 hours before it is scheduled to take place. This can be done via contacting careerservices@mtech.edu as long as it is before the sign-up deadline.
  • Any cancellations not made at least 24 hours in advance will count as an unexcused absence.
  • A missed interview will count as an unexcused absence.

Unexcused Absences

  • Students with one unexcused absence must write a letter of apology to the recruiter and provide a copy to Career Services. The letter must be written and sent before the student is allowed to interview on-campus again.
  • Students with two unexcused absences give up the right to interview through Career Services for one semester.
  • An exception may be made if students can provide proof of extenuating circumstances that kept them from attending the interview.

Letters of Apology

  • Students who cancel without proper notice or miss an interview are required to write a letter of apology to the recruiter and provide a copy to Career Services. Students who fail to write a letter of apology will no longer be allowed to participate in on-campus interviews.
