The HPER Facility is an academic and recreational facility on the Montana Tech Campus. It is dedicated to serving the academic, recreational, athletic, and other official programs or activities of the campus.
The HPER Complex Fitness Center is open normal hours under new guidelines due to COVID-19. The HPER Complex and its staff is committed to doing all we can to mitigate the spread of the virus. The new guidelines for using the HPER Complex are for the safety of the users and staff.
HPER is open with social distancing and increasing disinfecting.

Monday - Thursday: 6:00 am - 10:00 pm
Friday: 6:00 am - 8:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday: Noon - 5:00 pm
Note: The east entrance closes at 8:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 5:00 pm on Fridays. The east entrance is not open on weekends.
**The HPER Complex will have full and partial closures for Digger Athletic Events and other special events.
The Fitness Center in the HPER Complex features three floors and 8,000 square feet of workout space. The main floor and mezzanine level has over 30 pieces of cardio equipment including tread mills, ellipticals, stationary bikes and row machines. The cardio floor also has 10 pieces of top of the line Hoist Fitness Equipment and sets of dumb bells separate from the weight room.
If you aren't interested in watching television while you work out, the view out of the two story windows looks at the beautiful Highlands located south of Butte.
The weight room contains five multi-function racks and platforms for multiple users at a single time. Multiple free weight machines, a Hoist Multi-Gym, barbells, regular and incline benches are all located in the weight room.
