
Montana Technological University has been ranked the top college in Montana for return on investment in Kollegio’s 2026 Best ROI Colleges rankings.
The ranking recognizes colleges and universities that provide graduates with strong career outcomes and earning potential relative to the cost of attendance. Montana Tech earned the highest ROI ranking among Montana institutions. Additional rankings on the list include Montana State University – Northern at #2, Montana State University at #3, Montana State University- Billings at #4, and Carroll College at #5.
According to Kollegio, the rankings evaluate factors including tuition costs, financial aid, and post-graduate earnings to help students identify colleges that offer long-term value.
Montana Tech is consistently recognized for strong career placement and competitive starting salaries across a variety of disciplines, including engineering, health care, sciences, business, and skilled trades. The university’s emphasis on experiential learning, industry partnerships, and career-ready programs helps prepare students to enter high-demand fields.
More than 90% of Montana Tech graduates report positive career outcomes, including employment or continuing education, according to university outcomes surveys conducted over the past decade.
There’s still time to enroll at Montana Tech for fall 2026. In the upcoming academic year, several new program additions will offer even more opportunities for students to gain training in high-demand industries. New offerings will include an undergraduate certificate in nuclear energy, a behavioral health technician certificate, and three new broadband-focused microcredentials focused on broadband installation, fiber optic splicing, warehousing and logistics.
