Dropping a Course
To drop or withdraw a course, the student is responsible for contacting Dual Enrollment or Enrollment Services to complete the required paperwork.
Course Drop
When a student drops a course, before the last day to withdraw without the class appearing on a transcript. The student is removed from the class roster and the course will not show on an academic transcript.
Course Withdrawal
When a student chooses to withdrawal from a course before the last day to withdraw from a class with an automatic “W” they do not receive a grade for the course but will be assigned a “W.” Their academic transcript will show that they had attempted the course but did not to complete it. A withdrawal is not included in GPA calculations.
Yes. It is your responsibility to contact the dual enrollment coordinator at the college where you are taking the course about dropping or withdrawing from the course. It is important to submit the proper paperwork prior to the listed deadline to avoid a poor or failing grade being posted to your transcript.
No. Once a course has ended, a student cannot add or drop a course.
No. Withdrawn or dropped courses are excluded from GPA calculation. Please note that dropping or withdrawing from a dual enrollment course must be done by the college’s posted deadlines.
Yes. Dual enrollment courses are part of your official academic record. It is important to understand that failing grades or withdrawals on an official transcript may compromise your ability to receive financial aid, eligibility for athletics, or admission to some institutions and degree programs.
