About Katie
Based on her potential to become one of our nations research leaders, undergraduate student employee Katie Bozer was chosen in 2020 by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation as a Goldwater Scholar. Katie’s experience in industry includes an internship at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology focused on modeling dry separation, an internship at a Freeport-McMoRan smelter in Arizona focusing on cavitation and hydraulic studies, and an internship at Coeur Mining focusing on leaching experiments. Katie’s attention to detail, understanding of quality assurance and quality control, and knowledge of how lab scale studies extrapolate to industrial scale operations allows CAMP to count on Katie for sample preparation as well as running equipment and instrumentation. In addition to running mineral processing and metallography related equipment, Katie runs the X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM).
