Curriculum and Certifications
The lineman program combines classroom teaching with extensive, carefully-planned field training. Students will work with experienced instructors to learn the tasks and skills essential to the trade. Safety procedures are discussed and practiced with each task.
Courses
This one semester program includes the following courses:

Because of the unusual credit requirements for this one-semester program, students attend classes 40 hours per week. Individuals should be prepared to attend and participate in courses just as they would a full-time job.
Certifications
You will leave the Pre-Apprenticeship Line Program with many skills and certifications! Some of the certifications and specializations are:
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Traffic control (Flagging) Certification
- Rigging Certification
- OSHA Transmission and Distribution Certification
- Pole and Tower Rescue
Commercial Driver's Licence (A) Training Permit
Students are encouraged to obtain the written State of Montana CDL-A Permit before beginning the program.
