Dining Services

Montana Tech Dining Services provides a wide variety of options for your food service needs. From our Fire House Grill to grab-and-go items, our services are convenient, and our food is superior. Services include resident meal plans, pre-paid Digger Dollars for faculty and staff, catering, special dietary needs, sack meals and in-room services.

Meal Plans

Meal plans are available for students who live on or off campus. Prices for 2018-19 are as follows:

*Montana Moolah is a declining balance account that can be spent in all MT Tech Dining Service facilities including The Coffee Mill, Stax at the Library, Highlands Café on South Campus, and the Marcus Daly Dining Hall/ Convenience Store.

If you do not have a meal plan you can add money to your Diggercard and use Digger Dollars.

Meal plans can be changed during the first two weeks of class.  No changes will be allowed after this time.

In addition to other locations on campus, Digger Dollars can be used at any Dining Services venue. Digger Dollars work as a declining balance system where the customer adds funds to an account which is associated with their Digger Card. It is pay-as-you-go for dining.

Digger Dollar funds remain on your account as long as you are  an active student in the system. Digger Dollars can be purchased in the Digger Card Center located downstairs in the Student Union Building adjacent to the Mail and Copy Center.

  • Digger Dollars can be used anywhere on campus: Bookstore, Mail/Copy Center, Library, Business Office, Stax, Coffee Mill,  Dining Services and vending machines.
  • Digger Dollars are needed on cards to print in computer labs.
  • Digger Dollars carry over from semester to semester. You do not lose Digger dollars ever.  If you graduate and have balance on your card, you can get a refund through the Dean of Students' office.
 
Montana Moolah (included in student meal plans, see above) can only be used in Dining Services, Coffee Mill, Stax and Highland Cafeteria.

Montana Tech Dining Services provides catering for events on and off campus.

 

Nutrition counseling is available to all students who are on a meal plan. Our Registered Dietitian on the Missoula campus will work with students regarding dietary needs. For more information or to make an appointment, call the director of dining services at (406) 496-4590.

 

A variety of special events are scheduled throughout the year. The purpose of these events is to broaden our guests' culinary horizons and to allow students to experience foods and cultures from around the world. We encourage and welcome your suggestions.

 

Sack meals are available during the week for students who will be away on class-related matters. A 48-hour notice is required. Call the director of dining services at (406) 496-4590 for more information.

 

In-room services are available to ill or injured students who are unable get to the dining hall. Call the director of dining services at (406) 496-4590 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to arrange for a friend or Resident Assistant to pick up your meal.
