Montana Tech Announces Outstanding Student Awards

Montana Tech announced their Outstanding Student Awards at the 119th Commencement Ceremony held at the Butte Civic Center on Saturday, May 4, 2019. These students were chosen by their department faculty based on scholastic achievement, character, and community service. These are the students who best represent each department.
The following are the awards for both north and south campus:

North Campus:

VALEDICTORIANS:
Valedictorian honors are awarded for academic excellence both for the attainment of the applied science degree and the bachelor of science degree.

The bachelor of science valedictorian award is given to the graduating senior at Montana Tech who has achieved the highest grade point average overall in his or her years of study at Montana Tech. The recipient must be receiving his or her first baccalaureate degree and must have earned all-academic credits at Montana Tech. The valedictorians are: Zachary Hart, Biological Sciences; Levin Mullaney, Electrical Engineering; and Brennan Hopkins, Mechanical Engineering and General Engineering.

The associate of applied science valedictorian award is given to the graduate who has achieved the highest grade point average overall in his or her years of study toward a first associate of applied science degree. The recipient must have earned all-academic credits at Montana Tech. The associate of applied science valedictorian for 2019 is Kristen Glasheen, Radiologic Technology.

CHESTER H. STEELE HONOR AWARDS:
The Chester H. Steele Honor Award is given to recognize the outstanding graduating senior or seniors in engineering with the highest scholastic achievement. The 2019 recipients are: Levin Mullaney, Electrical Engineering; and Brennan Hopkins, Mechanical Engineering and General Engineering.

MONTANA SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS GOLD MEDAL AWARD:
For nearly 100 years, the Montana Society of Engineers has worked with Montana Tech to provide the Gold Medal Award to an outstanding graduating engineering senior. The 2019 award was presented to Levin Mullaney, Electrical Engineering, by Brian Sullivan, with the Montana Society of Engineers.
