Montana Academy of Sciences 2013 Research Grant Program & Annual Meeting
The Montana Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce its 2013 Research Grant Program and 2013 Annual Meeting.
This year the Montana Academy of Sciences will again award research grants to undergraduate and graduate students. These grants (up to $500.00) are intended to help students pursue research projects at any Montana University, 4-year College, or Tribal College. Awards will be announced at the Annual Meeting and will be disbursed for research during the summer and the next academic year. Students who receive funding are expected to present the results of their work at the 2014 MAS Annual Meeting. Applications are due February 15th, 2013 and can be submitted via the Academy’s website (sciencemt.org).
The 2013 Annual Meeting of the Montana Academy of Sciences, including the annual “Science & Society” Symposium, will be held April 12-13 at Montana Tech in Butte. The meeting will commence late Friday morning with the symposium, which will feature presentations concerning the roles science plays in our society, and will continue with a poster session and banquet Friday night. Research talks, including talks by all recipients of the 2012 research grants, will be held Saturday morning and afternoon. Discounted early registration and abstract submission will end March 1st, 2013. You will receive further details about both the grant program and the meeting as deadlines approach.
Faculty and students from all disciplines are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting and become a part of MAS. Our meeting has featured talks and posters from biologists, chemists, computer scientists, environmental scientists, geologists, physicists, and mathematicians, as well as from researchers in several interdisciplinary fields. Please mark your April calendar so that you and your students may share your work with our growing, statewide community of scientists.
