Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding Class Offered

Ski Club

The Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding class will again be offered spring semester through Discovery Ski Area. It is great way to have some winter fun while earning college credit. The class is for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, but it is especially good for those that are just learning to ski or snowboard.

This 1 credit class meets Tuesday afternoons at Discovery Ski Area from 12:30 to 4:00. The cost is $80 (payable to Discovery Ski Area), which includes 10 half day lift tickets and 4 lessons. (This is a great deal as a single half-day lift ticket at Big Sky costs $79.) If you have a season pass at Discovery, then the fee is reduced to $35.  If you do not own equipment, Discovery offers discounted rentals ($10/day) to students taking the course.

The first class meets at noon on Tuesday, January 15th in the Big Butte room to discuss the course syllabus, collect the $80 fee, and arrange carpools to Discovery. Regular meetings at Discovery are from January 22nd through April 2nd.

You can register for the class by signing up for HPER 1546-CRN 30387. Pre-registration for continuing students begins November 5th and pre-registration for new students begins on November 26. For additional questions on HPER 1546 contact Jeff Braun.
