REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Steps to Registration
Class registration for transfer students opens in May and continues throughout the summer until the Friday before classes begin in August.
1) Activate your OrediggerWeb account
OrediggerWeb is Montana Tech’s on-line student management system and is used to check your admission status, accept your financial aid, and view and pay your bill. OrediggerWeb is only available to admitted students. If you cannot login to OrediggerWeb, you have not yet been admitted.
2) Review your admission file
Ensure your admission file is up to date by reviewing your “application checklist” in OrediggerWeb. If we do not have your official ACT/SAT scores or MMR immunizations on file, you will not be able to register.
A transcript will be considered official only if:
- It has all final grades posted, i.e. no "in progress" courses.
- It has been stamped with the institution’s official seal.
- It is sent directly to Montana Tech from the transferring institution in a sealed envelope.
MMR immunizations: Immunizations can be faxed to the Enrollment Services office at 406.496.4710 or e-mailed to Enrollment Services.
COMPASS Exam: If you received notification that a Compass Exam is required to complete your admission file, we do not have enough information about your academic preparedness to register you for classes. The Compass Exam is a Math and English placement exam and is available at many universities throughout the United States. Scores can be e-mailed to the Enrollment Services office.
Final high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores: If you graduated high school within the past three years and have fewer than 30 college credits, we will also require your final high school transcript or GED and official ACT/SAT scores. Official test scores can be sent to us through the ACT or CollegeBoard websites using Montana Tech’s school code – 2418 (ACT) or 4487 (SAT).
3) Review your transcript evaluation
Once your admission file is complete, a Montana Tech Transcript Evaluator will review your transcripts and determine which credits will transfer to your chosen degree program. For a complete overview of the transcript evaluation process, visit the transferring credits section of the Montana Tech website.
Upon completion of your evaluation, the Evaluator will notify you via email about the number of credits accepted and provide you with instructions on how to complete the registration process for your specific degree program.
Please Note: Montana Tech requires all new transfer students to complete their admissions file at least one month prior to classes starting. Students with incomplete files at the one month deadline are not guaranteed completion of an evaluation prior to the first day of class.
