Beginning the week of 7/20 there will be a variety of training opportunities for faculty and grad students in over 14 different topics and location on both the main campus and Highlands College. The trainings cover topics including academic accountability, best practices in online, hybrid, web assisted course delivery, and teleconferencing. Each training will be offered multiple times and, in many cases, will have self-study versions that can be accessed through Moodle over the next few weeks. The current list of training topics is as follows:

  • Zoom for video conferencing using classroom teleconferencing equipment
  • Building a secure quiz in Moodle
  • Building student engagement in your online courses.
  • Writing (or rewriting) a syllabus for online course delivery.
  • Basic online course setup and best practices.
  • Using the Proctorio remote proctoring platform (held by Proctorio)
  • Developing an Online Course Using the QLT template with examples.
  • Developing an online course syllabus using the QLT syllabus template.
  • Accessibility for documents and online courses
  • Using Smart Podiums
  • Adding video, audio and multimedia to your Moodle course
  • Socio-emotional support best practices for online and hybrid students in COVID 19
  • Read and Write
  • Turn it in

Descriptions and signup instructions are available in the attached document. Once the semester has begun there will be additional training opportunities on these and other topics.
