Residence Halls

Montana Tech provides co-ed residence hall facilities for approximately 300 students. These facilities offer a variety of room styles including double and single rooms as well as three and four-person suite-style arrangements. The Office of Residence Life sponsors an array of activities and programs, such as intramural teams and social and educational activities. Residence hall facilities include computer labs, laundry rooms, kitchens, study lounges, and front desk operations to facilitate students' use of vacuum cleaners, basic cleaning supplies, athletic equipment, and mail services.
Each resident is furnished with a desk and a chair, a bunkable bed (with a 36 x 80 mattress) , a bureau or wardrobe unit, closet/shelf space, and a wastebasket. Each room is internet accessible (both wireless and internet) and is wired for phone and cable services. Students provide their own bed linens, blankets, bedspreads, towels, and pillows.
Every student may apply for residence hall housing. All first-year students having accumulated fewer than 30 semester credit hours or under 21 years of age are required to live on-campus. Exceptions may be requested by students who are married or living with immediate family within a reasonable commuting distance from campus. For information on residence halls and apartment housing, contact the Office of Residence Life at (406) 496-4425.

The Montana Tech Residence Hall Contract is a room and board contract. All residents must choose one of the meal plan options available. If a meal plan is not designated on the contract, the student will be assigned the Everyday Plan.

Telecommunications Fee: $78.00/semester
All students requesting residence hall accommodations must submit a one-hundred dollar ($100) reservation deposit with their contract. This deposit guarantees a reservation in a room and is a commitment, on the student's part, to live there.
This deposit is refundable in full only if the Office of Residence Life is notified by June 1.
If no cancellation is received before this date, the student does not attend Montana Tech, or the student attends Montana Tech but does not finally reside in Montana Tech residence halls, the student forfeits his/her reservation deposit.
The one-hundred dollar ($100) reservation deposit becomes a damage deposit once the student takes occupancy of a room. This deposit is refunded at the end of the contract period if there are no damage charges or other fees assessed against the student.
