Montana Tech has a total of 60 two and three-bedroom apartments located approximately one mile from campus. Family housing apartments are leased with priority given to students with dependants. (Priority deadline for families having precedence over single students is June 1.) Assignments are given on a first-come, first-serve basis according to a current waiting list.

Apartment eligibility is restricted to current Tech students who maintain forward progress in a north or south campus degree program. Students may be single or have a family.

Tenants are responsible for their own electricity/gas service. Local phone service and a data connection to the campus network are included in a telecom fee. Students must provide their own long-distance service via a calling card or pre-paid phone card. Public use facilities include a coin-operated laundry service and playground.
