The Office of Residence Life is dedicated to assisting students in all facets of residential living. We are committed to furthering the development of college students outside the classroom. It is our priority to promote and foster growth in all areas of students' lives including social, emotional, physical, cultural, and ethical. The Office of Residence Life provides a safe, clean, orderly environment that enables students to develop and grow.
Note that all first year, incoming freshmen are required to live in-hall. In accordance
with Montana Tech dormitory residency requirements and Policy 502.1 of the Montana Board of Regents of Higher Education, all "freshman" students are required to live on campus during their first year at Montana Tech. Exceptions may be requested by students who are married or living with their "immediate family" within a reasonable commuting distance from Montana Tech. Students requesting exception to this policy must complete and submit an exemption form to the Montana Tech Student Life Office. Appeals to dormitory decisions can be brought before an appeals board. The decision of the campus body established to hear dormitory residency appeals shall be final.
*A freshman student is defined as any student younger than 21 years of age at the time of enrollment who has accumulated fewer than 30 earned semester credit hours.
