Dynamic Evolution of the Spectral Signature and Brightness Temperature signature of Barley Under Drought Conditions

Abstract
Rheology – the study of flow has been researched for centuries. Biorheology of living systems includes blood flow throughout the body. Blood viscosity is a known factor in arthrosclerosis, heart disease and stroke. The Rheolog is an innovative device that measures the viscosity of blood by simulating how blood moves though arteries and veins. Less than a teaspoonful of blood (5 milliliters) is fed into the tubing inside of the lunchbox sized device. The blood moves extremely fast and then slows to a stop. Software measures the blood’s speed 10,000 times as it falls to produce a reading of height versus time to express viscosity.
In order to use the Rheolog, Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines must be met. Before an invasive procedure such as drawing blood can be performed, 11-point summary, an informed consent, and a checklist must be created and accepted by the IRB in Missoula, Montana. I attained the first clearance for an invasive procedure on our campus. This process took several months to complete and the IRB clearance to begin sampling a human population is now ready.
Biography

A Butte native, I am completing my degree at the half century mark. From 1996 to 2000, I went back to college to gain a degree as an environmental engineer - but my path veered and I did not complete schooling at that time.
For five years, I worked at Butte’s domestic violence shelter - Safe Space. I returned to Montana Tech in 2003 and applied to the registered nursing program. In May, I graduate with an Associates of Science Degree in Nursing. Thanks to God. The human body, “wonderfully and fearfully made” is the most complex feat of divine engineering. My undergraduate research project has opened my eyes to the miracles of research and expanded my horizons. My project combines engineering principles with medicine.
My passions include art and writing. My nursing dreams are to work in a treatment center dealing with substance abuse. My heart is with meth addicts and the toll that this devastating disease takes on young lives, whole families, and loved ones.
