Dr. Martha Apple - 2011 Distinguished Researcher Award

 

Martha Apple

Martha Apple has been with the Montana Tech for 8 years. She has applied her expertise in plant physiology to the effect of global climate change on plants. She is currently conducting an alpine plant study in SW Montana as part of the international Global Research Initiative in Alpine Environments (GLORIA), and has been a member of the Montana Tech team working on carbon sequestration at MSU’s Zero Emissions Research Technology site (ZERT).

 

She has over 48 publications and presentations, with 16 in the last three years, including an invited book chapter. Students actively participate in her research including 6 URP students and several other research students.

 

She is a graduate of the University of Montana, with a PhD degree in Biology from the University of Rhode Island.
