Steve Parker — 2009 Distinguished Researcher Award
 

Steve Parker has been with Montana Tech for 20 years.  He began his career teaching general chemistry as an adjunct instructor and laboratory director.  He then decided to pursue a PhD at the University of Montana, receiving his degree in 2005.   Since then he has aggressively expanded his research work in the geochemistry of impacted stream systems.  This work has resulted in 20 publications and presentations and $300,000 in funding.   In addition he has made several trips to Argentina to investigate the natural recovery of impacted ecosystems.

Steve is a graduate of Hope College, Indiana University, and received his PhD degree in Environmental Chemistry from University of Montana.
