Dr. Dan Trudnowski —2008 Distinguished Researcher

Dr. Dan Trudnowski has been with Montana Tech for 14 years. During this time he developed partnerships with the National Laboratories and industry. These partnerships have lead to nearly $2,000,000 in congressionally directed funding to attack the nation’s energy crisis. He also played a major role in reviving Montana Tech’s long dormant Electrical Engineering Program. Tech now has a new Electrical Engineering Department offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is working with Montana State University to offer doctorate degrees.

Dr. Trudnowski produced 30 publications while at Montana Tech, many involving his 16 masters students. These efforts addressed a broad range of energy topics including wind turbine controls, electric grid stability and grid efficiencies.

Dr. Trudnowski is a graduate of Montana Tech with master’s and doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University.
