Dr. Amy Kuenzi —2008 Distinguished Researcher
 

Dr. Amy Kuenzi has been with Montana Tech for 10 years. During this time her work has focused primarily on understanding the transport dynamics of hantavirus through unnatural landscapes – the mouse in the house project. This work is funded by a $1,000,000, five year grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH). Dr. Kuenzi also conducted other funded research on bat and bird ecology.

Dr. Kuenzi’s work resulted in 15 publications and 30 presentations since she arrived at Montana Tech. She has actively involved over 30 students during her projects and has served on eight thesis committees.

Dr. Kuenzi is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Southern Mississippi. She received her doctorate in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Arizona.
