Wayne Van Voast has been at Montana Tech for 30 years. He has a broad range of experience in research and research management. His backgrounds in Montana coal and related geology have caused him to become a major resource in the discussion of the potential for development of coal bed methane in eastern Montana. In addition to the more visible technical programs he maintains and ongoing interested in extracting geothermal energy for this molten iron rock. He holds degrees from Montana State University.
