Walt Lawrence Tournament
The Walt Lawrence Tournament began in 1995 in memory of Walt Lawrence a Montana Tech Alum in Metallurgy. The tournament is sponsored by the Newmont Mining Company in Elko NV with part of the proceeds going to the Montana Tech Walt Lawrence Endowment Scholarship. The requirements for the scholarship are a 2.75 GPA, 2nd year student in Metallurgy and show financial need. This year’s tournament raised $18,000.
Montana Tech included in Princeton Review’s “Best 361 Colleges”
Montana Tech is one of the nation’s best
institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton
Review. The New York-based education services company features the
college in The Best 361 Colleges (Random House / Princeton Review,
August 23, 2005, $21.95), the new 2006 edition of its annual "best
colleges" guide. Only about 15% of the four-year colleges in America
and two Canadian colleges are in the book. Click HERE

Career Fair and Golf Tournament
The 6th annual Career Fair and 1st annual Career Fair Golf Tournament is rapidly approaching. The career fair is Thursday, September 15 and the golf tournament is Friday, September 16. Grant Writing Class Offered
The Grant Institute's Grants 101:
Professional Grant Proposal Writing Workshop will be held
at the University of Montana, October 17-19, 2005. Interested
development professionals, researchers, faculty, and graduate students
should register as soon as possible, as demand means that seats
will fill up quickly. Please forward, post, and distribute this
e-mail to your colleagues and listservs.
ROTC Returning to Tech Campus
The Reserve Officer Training Corps will
return to the campus of Montana Tech this fall. The classes will
be available to veterans who are juniors or seniors for the 2005-2006
