Athletic Update
VOLLEYBALL
The volleyball team has been in spring training since the beginning of
March. We are practicing 3 times/week and competing in 4 different
tournaments. Two tournaments have been played already. We entered two Tech teams in the UM-Western tournament, and both teams advanced to the championship bracket. One team tied for 3rd, and one team tied for 4th, out of 12 total teams. One team was entered in the UGF tourney held last Saturday, April 1. Tech was seeded #1 in the consolation bracket, and eventually won it by defeating UGF. We will end spring ball by hosting our own tourney on April 22 at the HPER. If anyone is interested in watching, the tournament will run from 9am until around 5pm and admission is free.

FOOTBALL
Montana Tech football coach Bob Green declared his team game-ready after Saturday’s scrimmage at Alumni Coliseum.
“Right now I feel — both offensively and defensively — we could go into a game,” Green said. “We’re not going to put in anything else before the spring game.”

The Orediggers have 15 practices under their belts, and will wrap up the spring with the Green-White game at 11 a.m. next Saturday at Alumni Coliseum.

The coaching staff will be split up and draft teams for the game on Wednesday.

Saturday marked the team’s 15th practice of the spring.

There will be a Touchdown Club meeting on Thursday April, 20 @ 7pm at the VU Villa.  This event will unveil the teams for the green and white scrimmage.  So come stop on by for some pizza and a chance at some free Oredigger football gear.
