Useful definitions

Flash

Done by pushing and quickly releasing the hook switch on your phone, after which there will be a special tone. This tone sounds like a stuttering dial tone.

 

Analog Telephone

A phone characterized by a bell ringer and the absence of any "special" buttons.

 

Digital Telephone

A phone characterized by an electronic sounding ring and any number of "special" buttons. These extra buttons may be programmed with other directory numbers, "call transfer" and "hold" features, etc.....

How to use your features

The "Hold" feature

  • This feature allows you to put any call on hold. "Flash" the hook switch, after you hear the special tone dial #4. Your call will now be on hold. If you hang up your phone while someone is on hold your phone will ring every sixty seconds to remind you that the party is still on hold. If you do not hang up there will be no "reminder" ring.

  • To return to the call- "Flash" the hook switch if you didn't hang up. If you did hang up just pick up the receiver.

To Transfer a call

  • This feature allows you to transfer a call to another station."Flash" the hook switch, after you hear the special "stutter" tone, dial the number of the phone you want to transfer the call to. Make sure someone answers and tell the party the purpose of the call, then hang up. If no one is there or it is busy just "flash" the hook switch again and you will be reconnected to the calling party.

3-way conference calling

  • This feature allows you to add a third caller to an existing phone call. While on the phone with the first party "Flash" the hook switch. After the stutter dial tone dial the number of the second party. Tell the party of the conference call, then "Flash" the hook switch again to connect all three callers. When you are done with the conference just hang up.

To Forward your calls

  • This feature allows you to make all calls that would ring at your station ring on another station. Pickup the receiver and the dial the "#" key and then "1." After you hear a regular dial tone, dial the number you want your calls to be forwarded to. Hang up.

  • To Cancel your Call Forward- Pick up the receiver and dial the "#" key and then "1." After you hear a regular dial tone hang up.
