Montana   Tech   2015   Commencement

The May 2015 commencement ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Butte Civic Center. Please plan accordingly for yourself and your guests. Students should plan to arrive at the Civic Center by 10:15 a.m. to begin lining up for the procession. Students will receive a commencement program and a card with their name, degree, major, and honor status. If the name is difficult to pronounce, students should please e-mail the phonetic spelling of the name to Fred Sullivan so it can be included on the name card. This will ensure names are announced properly during the ceremony. Students and their guests are also invited to a reception in the Annex of the Civic Center after Commencement.

If students completed a form requesting that their records be kept confidential, their name will not be included on the commencement program or in the program. If a student will be graduating with honor or high honor, they will need to pick up their honor cord in the Enrollment Services office the week before commencement.

Dress rehearsal will be held at the HPER Gym on Thursday, May 14 at 3 p.m. Campus and College group pictures will be taken then. Be sure to bring or wear complete graduation clothing including Gown, Cap, Tassel and Honor Cord, if applicable. Master students will not have their hoods as hoods are given at commencement.

Montana Tech graduation photos (individual and group shots) will be taken by Lisa Wareham Photography. Individual photos of the graduate receiving their diploma can be taken at the graduation ceremony but MUST be pre-ordered at www.mtechphotos.com.

Montana Tech is extremely excited about the opportunity to participate in The CSO Outcomes Survey which is the industry standard for reporting what students plan to do post-graduation. Your information will provide us with critical information necessary for academic and career advising, student recruitment, peer comparison, and institutional reporting needs. Help keep Montana Tech’s reputation strong and accurate! Emails will be sent before graduation, again at three months, six months and 1 year after graduation.  Prizes are awarded at each stage, so respond at each stage and have more opportunities to win. Thank you for sharing this important information!

Diplomas will be mailed to the diploma address provided on students' graduation application for those students who will be completing degree requirements in May. If this address (shown below) changes before diplomas are mailed, please email the Enrollment Services Office at epeterson@mtech.edu with the updated address. For those who have already received a diploma, please disregard.

If you are graduating with honor or high honor, you will wear an honor cord during the ceremony. Please stop by Enrollment Services (MG 207) the week before commencement to pick up your honor cord.  Visit this website to learn how honor and high honor are calculated.  If you misplace your honor cord, you will be required to pay an $8.00 replacement fee if you want another cord.

If you have a hold on your account, you will be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony.  However, you will not receive your plaque, diploma, or transcript until you have taken care of all of your holds.  Please check your Orediggerweb account to see if you have any holds.

All graduates (except those with holds) will receive a plaque with a copper replica of their diploma as a gift from Montana Tech.  These plaques will be available in the Kelly Steward room in the SUB after the ceremony.
