Apply for Financial Aid
Funding your education is a major financial commitment for you as a student and perhaps for your family as well. We strive to make your education affordable, through grants, loans, student employment on campus, and scholarships. Approximately 90 percent of our first-time students receive some form of financial aid.
Please follow all of the steps below to apply for financial aid. If you have questions, contact Enrollment Services at 406-496-4256. We'll be happy to help.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
Step 1: Apply for admission at Montana Tech.
Step 2: Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line.
- Montana Tech's school code is 002531.
- The priority deadline for applying for financial aid at Montana Tech is March 1st. We recommend that you complete the FAFSA as soon as you complete your tax return in order to meet this deadline.
Step 3: We will contact you via email or postal mail to ask for additional verification information if necessary. An explanation of what information is required for verification is also available on the Forms page.
Step 4: We will notify you via email of your financial aid award. Expect notification toward the end of March or the beginning of April.

Check How Much You've Borrowed
Have you taken out one or more Title IV student loans, but don't know how much you actually owe? Find out your aggregate loan amounts at the National Student Loan Data System website.
Keep Your Information Current
If we offer you financial aid, but we can't reach you, you may lose your opportunity to accept it. Be sure to notify Enrollment Services of any changes in your email address, mailing address, and/or telephone number. Contact us at 406-496-4256 or email@example.com to make these changes.
