Hockey Players Honored

Two Montana Tech hockey players, Joel Johnson (Forward) and Douglas Abbott Jr. (Defense) were selected as 2016-17 First Team All-Americans for Division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. There are 55 hockey teams in the West Region (approximately 20 players per team) and 211 teams in Division 2. 

Joel Johnson, from Barrhead, Alberta, Canada, played for the Orediggers for two years. He is a petroleum engineering student who will graduate in December. He has accepted a full-time position with Noble Energy.

Douglas (Dunk) Abbott Jr., from Butte, Montana, will graduate in petroleum engineering in May 2018 and then will work for Marathon Oil. This will be his fourth season with the hockey team.
