Dr. John Ray has Paper Accepted for Presentation

March 6, 2017

Dr. John W. Ray of Montana Tech's Liberal Studies Department has had a peer reviewed paper accepted for presentation at the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change: Impacts and Responses to be held this spring at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England. The conference will be examining the scientific evidence for the existence of climate change, the impacts of climate change, the human dimension of climate change and the possible political, social and technical responses to climate change.

In his paper, Dr. Ray argues that Combating climate change requires the decarbonization of energy. This paper argues that the energy policy the world and the U.S. should pursue is the maximum achievable decarbonization of energy supply.   Dr. Ray teaches classes at Montana Tech in political science, public policy and political theory. He is a board member of the Citizens Technical Environmental Committee (CTEC) and is chairperson of Citizens for Labor and Environmental Justice in Butte.
