20th Annual Montana Tech Petroleum Symposium This Week on Campus
The Montana Tech Society of Petroleum Engineers Symposium will be held on the campus of Montana Tech from April 23-25. The Symposium is a technical conference and gathering of regional oil and gas professionals interested in technology advancement in the Rockies. The success of the Symposium has been established as a networking and educational forum for many industry attendees throughout Montana, southern Alberta, and the northern Rocky Mountain states. 2015 marks the 20th annual SPE Symposium held on the Montana Tech campus.
This year’s theme “When the going gets tough, the tough get innovative!” highlights the versatility and ingenuity required to operate in the oil and gas industry in this current market downturn. Despite lower oil prices Montana Tech Petroleum Engineering Grads are thriving in the industry and are returning to MT Tech to share their innovative developments with peers and students alike.
Proceeds from the Symposium support the Montana Tech Society of Petroleum Engineers student chapter of over 200 students pursuing Petroleum Engineering degrees.
The event is open to the general public. Registration at the door is $75 for community members to attend 2 days of technical presentation sessions or $100 to attend the presentations, mixer, and awards banquet.
