Montana Academy of Science Annual Meeting at Montana Tech in April
The 2015 Annual Meeting of the Montana Academy of Sciences will be held April 10-11 at Montana Tech in Butte. The meeting will commence Friday night with a poster session and banquet. Research talks, including talks by all recipients of the 2014 research grants, and participants in Tech’s URP program will be held Saturday morning and afternoon. Discounted early registration will end March 21st, 2015. Please find details about registration and abstract submission for posters and talks, including updates regarding the program, at http://sciencemt.org/MAS/.
Presenting at this conference is a requirement for all URP participants, but faculty and students from all disciplines are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting and become a part of MAS. The meeting has featured talks and posters from biologists, chemists, computer scientists, environmental scientists, geologists, physicists, and mathematicians, as well as from researchers in several interdisciplinary fields. Please mark your April calendar so that you and your students may share your work with the growing, statewide community of scientists.
This year the Montana Academy of Sciences will again award research grants to undergraduate and graduate students. These grants (up to $1,000.00) are intended to help students pursue research projects at any Montana University, 4-year College, or Tribal College. Awards will be announced at the Annual Meeting and will be disbursed for research during the summer and the next academic year. Students who receive funding are expected to present the results of their work at the 2016 MAS Annual Meeting. Applications are due March 15th, 2015, and directions for submission are on the Academy's website (http://sciencemt.org/MAS/).
