Golden Sunlight Mine (GSM) is an open-pit and underground gold mining project located near Whitehall, Montana.  Major mining operations began at GSM in 1981, and since that time, 429 millions tons of material has been mined from the Mineral Hill Pit, including 55 million tons of ore.  Mining activities at GSM have disturbed approximately 2,236 aces within a permit boundary of 6,125 acres.  To date, 1,006 acres have been reclaimed with an additional 100 acres prepared for seeding in spring 2008.

This tour of GSM will take the participants to the Mineral Hill Open Pit, the vat leach mill and processing facilities, successfully reclaimed waste rock dumps with 2:1 slopes, a decommissioned and reclaimed tailings facility, an active tailings facility, and an active reclamation of waste rock dumps to a natural regrade configuration.
