Photoassisted Electron Transfer Reactions of Application to Mine Wastewater Cleanup: Berkeley Pit Water
Principal Investigator: Dr. Courtney Youngcyoung@mtech.edu
Several photoassisted electron transfer reactions (using U.V. light to remediate the water) were explored for the cleanup of iron, manganese, arsenic, and sulfate in Berkeley Pit Water. Results show limited success of photo-reduction of metals, and photo-oxidation of iron was effective.
