Julie Hart joined the faculty in the Safety, Health and Industrial Hygiene Department at Montana Tech in the fall of 2000. Prior to her faculty appointment, Julie worked in industry in a variety of health and safety positions including corporate health and safety auditor, senior safety advisor, industrial hygienist, and radiation safety officer. Julie is a graduate of Montana Tech with a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health and an M.S. in Industrial Hygiene. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and is currently pursuing her Ph. D. in Toxicology at The University of Montana.

Julie’s teaching responsibilities include industrial hygiene controls, noise, radiological health and safety, hazardous materials management, and advanced industrial toxicology.  Julie has been active in numerous research projects at Montana Tech.  These projects include work in industrial noise evaluation and control, employee exposure assessments, and public and occupational health risk assessments associated with amphibole fibers in Libby, Montana.

Julie and her husband Larry reside in Butte with their two young boys.   Julie’s recreational interests include camping, mountain biking and skiing in the mountains of Montana.
