Q. What are the requirements to be admitted into the MPEM program?
A. The admission requirements are:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college/university;
- A satisfactory GRE score;
- A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper based) or 213 (CBT) for international students;
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Q. What are the requirements to complete the degree?
A. Students are required to complete six core classes and four elective classes for a total of 30 credits. Classes are offered in fall, spring and summer semesters. To complete the degree, students complete a final in-person presentation.

A. Yes, Montana Tech is accredited by Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

Q. How do I apply for admission?
A. Prospective students are required to complete the MPEM degree application. The Application can be completed online or a hard copy version of the application can also be requested by contacting the
Graduate School or by phoning 406-496-4304 or 800-445-8324 (press 6).

Q. How does the online program work?
A.
The students who are admitted to the MPEM program are required to register for at least one class every semester. Every student will be given a login name and a password. After registration students enter into their domain where the course materials, assignments and homework will be posted. Professors can be reached by e-mail, in chat rooms, and in threaded discussions.

Q. What is the cost for enrolling in the online program?
A. Tuition cost and fees for residents is $856 and $2,305 for non-residents per three-credit course. Montana Board of Regents policy provides for discounted tuition for Montana residents.

Q. How many classes can I take each term?
A. Every year six classes are being offered at the rate of two classes each semester. Students are required to register for at least one class every semester. Students can take both classes in a semester.

Q. How long will it take to complete my degree?
A. Students taking two classes per semester and successfully meeting all the course requirements will be able to complete the program in one and a half years. If they enroll for one class per semester, it will take two and a half years to obtain the degree.

Q. Are there any limits on the number of students who may enroll in a class?
A. The number of students per online class is limited to 25.

Q. Will I have regular class meetings on the web?
A. Yes. Each faculty determines the online meeting time, which may vary from course to course.

A. Almost all assignments can be submitted electronically. Faculty members decide on how they want their assignments to be submitted.
