Faculty
The Geophysical Engineering faculty includes four Ph.D. geophysicists and a laboratory director. All of the faculty teach in the program, advise students, and are involved in the program development.
Program expertise covers all of the major geophysical technique areas with specialties and research interests in:
- potential fields;
- electrical and electromagnetic methods;
- ground penetrating radar;
- seismic exploration;
- aircraft and satellite remote sensing;
- digital image processing;
- neural networks and reservoir characterization.
Undergraduate and Graduate research opportunities are available in any of these areas.

Professor Speece received a B.S. degree in Geological Sciences from Wright State University (1982), an M.S. in Geology from The University of Michigan (1984) and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from The University of Wyoming (1992). Read more....

Professor Link earned a BA (1971) in physics from the University of Iowa, a BS (1985) in geophysical engineering from Montana Tech, and a PhD (1993) in geophysics from the University of Houston.

Dr. Leif Cox

Professor Cox graduated from Montana Tech with a BS (2000) in geophysical engineering. He then moved to Alaska and received his MS (2002) in geophysics from the University of Alaska—Fairbanks, where he studied glaciers. The University of Utah was next, where he completed a PhD in geophysics in 2007. read more... |
