I graduated from Montana Tech with a BS (2000) in geophysical engineering. I then moved to Alaska and received my MS (2002) in geophysics from the University of Alaska—Fairbanks, where I studied glaciers. The University of Utah was next, where I completed a PhD in geophysics in 2007. My dissertation topic was inversion of frequency domain airborne EM data. During my years in school, I had internships with Unocal (3 internships), BP, and Newmont. I joined the faculty at Montana Tech in the fall of 2007. My current research interests are forward modeling and inversion of electromagnetic data. This includes applications to near surface geophysics and mining and petroleum exploration.
When not at work, I enjoy skiing and backpacking with my two boys and wife. I also try to get out for mountaineering, fishing, biking, triathlons, the occasional ultra marathon, etc, as much as possible. My favorite color is red...no blue.
