GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING
MISSION:
The mission of the undergraduate degree program is to provide a quality education that blends theory with practice and enables graduates to embark upon and successfully pursue professional careers in the field of geological engineering.
CAREERS:
Graduates enjoy a variety of career opportunities within the mining, consulting, oil and gas industries, water production and government . Placement of graduates continues a long-lived trend of 100% , and that trend is projected to continue for the next decade or more. This demand coupled with Tech graduates' exceptional education and experience currently commands an annual salary averaging US $57,333 with a signing bonus of up to US $13,000.
VALUE:
The educational costs are remarkably low and the reputation of Tech remarkably high making Tech one of the the highest educational values in the world. Qualified out-of-state students majoring in Geological Engineering will find the normal out-of-state surcharge on tuition significantly reduced due to scholarships, internships and grants as a result of the world-wide shortage in mining-trained geological engineering graduates.
DEGREE PROGRAMS:
Tech offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees with hands-on experience in geological engineering with options to focus in geotechnical engineering and hydrogeological engineering. Research is encouraged and is well funded by industry, government, and the Montana Tech Foundation.
ACCREDITATION:
Montana Tech's degree in geological engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
