Welding Engineering Option
The Welding Engineering option at Montana Tech is over 20 years
old. The Welding Engineering curriculum is built on a solid general
engineering, calculus-based, foundation that includes course work
in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering mechanics, thermodynamics,
fluids, electronics, computer programming and professional engineering.
The Welding Engineering (WE) curriculum at Montana Tech reflects
the multi-discipline nature of welding engineering.
There are four major areas that comprise the curriculum: Processes,
Design, Materials, and Evaluation. Approximately 24 semester credit
hours of the 136 hours required for a BS in General Engineering
with an Option in Welding Engineering are dedicated to WE specific
courses.
