Mode-Meter Research

The purpose of this website is to provide information on automated electromechanical mode estimation algorithms for electric power systems (commonly termed a mode-meter). The information contained on this site draws upon many years of research conducted by many individuals and primarily sponsored by the US Department of Energy. Leaders of the research include:

Dr. John Pierre at the University of Wyoming (Pierre@uwyo.edu)
Dr. Dan Trudnowski at Montana Tech (dtrudnowski@mtech.edu)
Dr. John Hauer at Pacific NW National Laboratory (john.hauer@pnl.gov)

The following documents provide computer code, background information, and detailed information on the mode-meter concept and algorithms.
