Financial Aid and Scholarships can be confusing and challenging. We have developed this page to help answer some of your questions and to take some of the frustration out of applying for aid.
To apply for financial aid, please fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line. You will be asked for the school code for the school to which you're applying. The school code for Montana Tech (including Montana Tech College of Technology) is 002531. The priority deadline for applying for financial aid is March 1st. We recommend that you apply for financial aid after you've filed your tax return so you can provide the most accurate information on your FAFSA. If you choose to apply for financial aid before filing your tax return, you will be required to verify the information you provided on your financial aid application by submitting a copy of your W2s and federal tax return.
Once you've completed the FAFSA, your information will be sent to us, at which time you'll be notified (via email if you provided one on your FAFSA, otherwise by postal mail) if you've been selected for verification. In addition to completing the FAFSA, you are also required to submit at least one institutional form. When we email you, we'll let you know exactly what additional information is needed. Our Forms page also outlines exactly what other forms and documentation you may be required to submit.
Initial awards are made toward the end of March or beginning of April. You will be notified of your award via email and will be required to sign your electronic award letter on-line.

Please make sure you keep a current address and telephone number with Montana Tech. From time to time we need to get in touch with you and, if we don't have a "good" address or telephone number, it makes it very difficult to provide you with pertinent information.
