2017 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program


The Undergraduate Research Committee is pleased to open the call for proposals for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). The details for the SURF call is listed below and in the attachment. The deadline for the 2017 SURF program is March 24, 2017 at 5 pm. No late proposals will be accepted. Please read the guidelines for the program carefully.

The SURF program is designed to provide an intensive, in-depth research experience or public health internship experience to a small number of Montana Tech undergraduate students. Projects are expected to span 9-10 weeks, beginning on or after May 8, 2017. Supplies must be purchased and travel completed, with all invoices and associated paperwork submitted to the Research Office, by August 11, 2017, unless other arrangements are made prior to that date.

For SURF projects, Faculty Mentors should submit proposals (6 pages max) electronically to URP@mtech.edu by 5 pm Friday, March 24, 2017. Subject line should say, “MentorLastName - SURF Proposal 2017”. Files should be in .pdf format with the following naming protocol: mentorlastname_surfproposal_2017.pdf
