Downloading Course Evals in Excel Format:
If you, as an instructor, are having issues downloading your course evaluations in excel format, it could be due to Internet Explorer not giving you the correct permissions to do so. This tutorial will teach you how to change mtech.edu to a trusted domain on your computer.Step 1: Open Internet Explorer. Due to the format of the course evaluation download, it can only be downloaded in Internet Explorer.
Step 2: Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of Internet Explorer, and select “Internet Options”.
Step 3: Click the “Security” tab, and then the “Sites” button to open up the “Trusted Sites” window.
Step 4: If you do not see the URL “http://*.mtech.edu” in the “Websites:” box, add it by typing it into the box labeled “Add this website to the zone:” and clicking the Add button. Then, do the same with “https://*.mtech.edu”. When finished, click the Close button.
Step 5: From the Internet Options box, now click the “Custom level…” button.
Step 6: Scroll through the list until you find Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked safe for scripting, then click the “Enable” radio button. Do the same for the Script ActiveX controls not marked safe for scripting option, then click “OK”.
Step 7: Click OK in the Internet Options box as well, and then click the gear in the upper right hand corner again. Select “About Internet Explorer” from the list.
Step 8: If you are on Internet Explorer version 11 (pictured below), or Internet Explorer version 10 continue following this tutorial. If you are on any other version, you are finished with this tutorial.
Step 9: Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the window again. From the list, select “Compatibility View Settings”.
Step 10: In the box labeled “Add this website:” enter “mtech.edu” without quotes, then click the Add button. You may then close this window.
