Alternate Mail Providers
ALTERNATE MAIL PROVIDERS: Why can't I just use my Hotmail mailbox?
Many Montana Tech administrative offices, departments and instructors now assume that ALL Tech students are actively checking their Montana Tech mailboxes. Thus some communications are now sent only to the student mailboxes and no longer via other methods (i.e. paper copy).
Those students who wish to use "other" mail service providers (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Juno, Netscape, ISPs, etc) should configure that provider's mail service (or a local mail client such as Outlook) to accept 'POP' mail delivery of their MONTANA TECH email. In other words, if you are not using your Montana Tech mailbox as your primary mailbox, you should "pop" your Tech mail to your alternate mailbox/client.
When configuring your mail client to 'Pop' (POP3/IMAP4) mail delivery of your Montana Tech mail to another mail service, you will need an address of where to 'Pop' your MTech E-Mail from. This address is: POPmail.MTECH.EDU
