TRADES AND TECHNICAL
The Trades and Technical Department prepares traditional and non-traditional students for their personal and/or educational goals through the integration of technology, communications, problem solving and technical skills. Skills learned will provide occupational growth and lifelong learning.
The Automotive Technology program has been evaluated by NATEF and meets the standards of NIASE. Carpentry students are eligible for certification with the NCCER National Registry. Drafting students use manual and CAD equipment typical of current industry standards. The Metals Fabrication program requires students to produce projects from the conceptual stage to completion by using drawings, blueprints, and other specifications using arc, gas, MIG, TIG and Plasma welding combined with lathe and milling machine applications. Historic Preservation is a rapidly rowing field of study and currently, there is no other AAS in this area being offered in Montana or surrounding states. Graduates of the Civil Engineering program are prepared to assist professional engineers in a wide variety of projects from transportation, to sewer and water supply, to material testing.
