What is the College of Technology?

The College of Technology (COT) is one of the four colleges/schools of Montana Tech of the University of Montana. The other colleges/schools are: the College of Arts, Sciences & Professional Studies, the Schools of Mines & Engineering and the Graduate School.

 

Where is the COT located?

There are two campus locations for Montana Tech. The location of the main campus (sometimes called the North Campus) is 1300 West Park Street in Butte, MT. The COT (sometimes called the South Campus) is located at 25 Basin Creek Road in Butte.

 

Is the COT the same as the Butte Vo-Tech?

No it is not. The Butte Vo-Tech ceased to exist in 1994. The COT is fully embedded in and part of Montana Tech.  Graduates of the COT are Alumni of Montana Tech and, as such, are entitled to the full range of privileges and benefits as the other alumni.

 

Are COT students allowed to play sports at Montana Tech?

Absolutely! All of the COT students are full Montana Tech students. As such, they are permitted to use all of the Tech facilities and participate in all of the Tech events and organizations, including the sports teams.

 

Can COT students reside in the Montana Tech residence halls?

Again, absolutely! Many COT students choose to live in the Tech residence halls. It should be fully understood that COT students are full Montana Tech students. There is no difference.

 

Is the Montana Tech catalog and schedules of classes available at the COT?

The current Montana Tech catalog and the schedules of classes for the upcoming semesters are all online. Thus, all of this information is available to the entire world at all times.
