Academic Interests:

  • Educating the next generation of computer scientists and software engineers that will build the more intelligent, more robust, and more useful software of the future

 

  • Coaching a Montana Tech International College Program Contest team that takes the Rocky Mountain Region and attends the World Finals

 

  • Developing and assessing processes and techniques for constructing zero defect computer programs

 

  • Utilizing the formidable and widespread appeal of computer games for education

 

  • Researching the theory and construction of proof assistants and argument validators

 

Personal Highlights:

A forty-five-year, third generation industrial software engineer veteran who swims, runs or hikes almost daily, helps his life partner maintain a century old miner’s cottage, is learning to hunt, reads widely, is learning Chinese, manages several equities portfolios for extended family members, enjoys many types of movies and videos, subscribes to Netflix, and keeps in touch with four daughters, five grandchildren, and many close and intimate friends via play time, face-to-face visits, workshops, email, and Facebook.
