Internship Presentation Requirements
Every student doing an internship is required to make a public presentation. This presentation should be approximately 20 minutes in length with an additional 10 minutes for questions. Visual aids should be used and appropriate dress worn. A copy of your talk, along with a copy of your visual aids, should be given to your faculty advisor at the time of your presentation.
- Include the following in your talk:
- Whom you worked for, what type of work this company does, and who are their customers.
- How you learned about the internship. Describe the work that you did. (If you developed software and can demonstrate it, please do.)
- Tell the context in which you see your work being used.
- Describe your work experience: How large was the group in which you worked? Did you have a mentor? Did you work with other interns? What new skills did you learn? What assistance were you given for learning new skills?
- If the internship was out of town, how did you arrange your housing? What was it like living in another community? Did the company provide extra-work activities?
- Discuss the things that you liked, and didn’t like, about the internship.
