Entering Montana Minds scholars would be placed in one of two Learning Communities, one for students who are ready to enter Calculus and one for students whose first math course should be Pre-Calculus. These first semester Learning Communities are shown below:
Montana Minds scholars who are ready for calculus will be advised into MATH 1516, Calculus with Algebra Enhancement, which uses an additional credit of course time to make sure that the students have the algebra and trigonometric background to succeed. The sections of the chemistry, communications, college success courses in these Learning Communities would be set up to be the same so that Montana Minds scholars would only be split up based on their math placement. In addition to the courses in these Learning Communities Montana Minds scholars would be advised to enroll in one other 3 credit course, most likely a course which would satisfy part of our general education core.
