David Ottolino
A native of Billings, Montana, Professor Ottolino graduated from the University of Montana in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administrations (Accounting) and in 1997 with a Master of Business Administration. His career includes seven years in public accounting in Helena, Montana and twenty-six years with The Montana Power Company / NorthWestern Energy in Butte, Montana. During his years with The Montana Power Company, Professor Ottolino managed the income tax, financial planning, and treasury operations of its nonutility operations, and led numerous information technology projects, culminating in his leadership of the company's $40 million implementation of the enterprise resource planning system SAP R/3. Following the successful implementation of that system, he continued to occupy various information technology leadership roles until his retirement from NorthWestern Energy in 2006. While working in Butte, Professor Ottolino taught several courses for Montana Tech as an adjunct instructor, and joined the faculty on a full-time basis following his retirement from NorthWestern Energy. Professor Ottolino is a certified public accountant and a career-long member of the American Institute of CPAs, Montana Society of CPAs, and Butte Chapter of CPAs.
