The BIT department is one of the largest programs on the Montana Tech campus! The BIT offices and many of our classes are in the Engineering Laboratory Classroom building (ELC). Our faculty are passionate about teaching and providing a quality education. International trade and an ever changing economy create a need for us to constantly assess our curriculum and make changes to maintain a cutting edge program. In this past academic year a number of changes have been considered to ensure our students will receive the best possible education for today's world. (If you would like more indepth information on the changes, please read our 2008 Newsletter.)

Tidbits...

Our Advisory Board members have been a tremendous support. They commit their time and energy to meet with us on a regular basis. Their service this year has been invaluable in helping us sort through the proposed changes. We thank each of you for your dedication to the success of our students!

We are very proud to announce that Tim Kober, BIT Department Head, successfully defended his dissertation in March of this year, earning his Ed.D! The title of his paper was: “Is Accounting Education Aligning with the Expectations of the Marketplace?  An Analysis of CPA Firm Hiring Preferences Related to the 150-Hour Requirement."

SBD

Montana Tech was installed as a chapter of the Sigma Beta Delta (SBD) Honory Society in 2005. The SBD is an international society honoring excellence in the areas of Business, Management and Administration. Membership affords lifelong recognition for outstanding academic achievment. Each year the faculty review the achievements of upper level students in the program. The top ten students are invited to be inducted.

Computer Lab

These computers contain software specific to the BIT program for our students. It is located in the ELC building across from the faculty offices.

When classes are over and it's time for a break - the great outdoors awaits! Skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, fishing, and camping to mention a few. Montana has a vast array of choices in outdoor adventures!
